Laila the Vampire

Description

I wanted to make a character that had a bit of old-school vampire (takes cover from the sun by any means necessary, lurks in a family tomb, capable of turning into a bat, etc)

Laila, the vampire, is a red fox. She and her family jumped from town to town every few years, working as tailors (which they are pretty good at from years of practice).

Laila is the more gentler and kinder than the rest of her family. Her father, Andre, seduced a woman and made her his bride, Ariana (Laila's mother), many years ago. Her parents had 5 children: Morton, Ceinwein, Christopher, Laila, and Venus.
*the ages between the children tend to be from 6-20 years apart*
Like many old-school vampires, she is capable of transforming into a large bat. But with the amulet around her neck, she can have the power of flight without becoming a bat. (like in the picture above)

In her family they have rules:
:bulletblack: The holy light will reveal one's evils (Stay away from the churches)

:bulletblack: The sun's light no longer welcomes one with open arms. (Stay out in broad daylight if possible, if one must come out during the day, cover oneself)

:bulletblack: Only take blood under the dim moonlight. (Hunt in the night only)

and the most important rule

:bulletblack: Mortal's affairs are none of a vampire's. (Stay out of mortal business)

But Laila is gonna run into a bit of trouble with her family with that last rule sometime in the future.

Laila and art made by me

EDIT: Fixed the shading of the shoes, thank you :iconcursedmoonlight: for the critique that pointed that out.

You set on critiques, and... I couldn't resist x3
Let's get started, shall we?

First, the positives! <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/b/b…" width="15" height="15" alt=":D" title=":D (Big Grin)"/>
<img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/b/b…" width="10" height="10" alt=":bulletred:" title="Bullet; Red"/>Your character design is gorgeous as always. The colors look really good on her: and I love that dress!
<img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/b/b…" width="10" height="10" alt=":bulletred:" title="Bullet; Red"/>Her anatomy is nicely executed. Her arms look the right length, same with her legs. <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/c/c…" width="20" height="20" alt="" title="Clap"/>
<img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/b/b…" width="10" height="10" alt=":bulletred:" title="Bullet; Red"/>Your scenery, although a bit on the simple side, works really well with the character. It gives depth, and I really like that. (I wish I was better at backgrounds....)

Now, some negatives. :/
<img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/b/b…" width="10" height="10" alt=":bulletblack:" title="Bullet; Black"/>Her shoes look a little out of place with the shading and lineart. They just... really stand out. I'd suggest shading them differently to get them to fit in better.

I don't see anything else that stands out to me.
All in all, you've done a great job, and such a cute character, too! Keep it up <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/h/h…" width="15" height="13" alt="" title="Heart"/>
